From a Tucson estate some years ago, and remembrance of the time when good new roads finally opened the Southwest for tourism, is this not so common I believe 1930's or so Navajo silver snake ring. The ornament features two green Cerrillos turquoise stones and that striking rattlesnake depiction - construction features being fully indicative of a making in those times. The ornament absolutely falls within the framework of so called Fred Harvey style, a more wearable period alternative to traditional tribal adornment. In this case the chisel and old style stamp work recalls an older local aesthetic, while the snake depiction is obviously aimed directly at a more adventurous "Indian Detour" visitor. The combination of nice green Cerrillos stones and traditional silver work provide plenty of visual charisma - read every bit of the desired "look".

Weight is good for the form at about 4.6 grams on my portable digital scale. Condition is quite fine with a nice aura of time to the silver surfaces as seen in the pics. The turquoise is attractively patinated - there is a tiny tight line at the side of the top one, I believe there when set. There is an ancient sizing join at the very back of the shank, well accomplished and possibly done at the original getting.

Such typical and expected signs of period finger duty provide more evidence of a genuine history. A look at those pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition.

Size is about 3 3/4 or possibly 4 on my jeweler's ring mandrel (the bottom edge of the shank reaches between those lines on the mandrel). I'm not sure what else need be said, so there you are.
