This is a wonderful Fred Harvey era Bell Trading Post sterling silver and turquoise cuff bracelet. A rarer piece from the 1960s with smooth edges instead of Indian motif stamping gives it a lovely timeless look. Fred Harvey era jewelry was commissioned by trading posts and pit stops along the southwest highways for tourists who wanted a lighter profile on their jewelry than traditional Native American jewelry. The distinctive stamping of Indian motifs like arrows thunderbirds and sun bursts as well as concho designs are typical of this era of jewelry. So this one is more rare and has a more southwestern feel. The middle bright blue turquoise is a lovely chunk of natural turquoise possibly Carico lake turquoise based on the color. Based on the hallmark and the classic Mid century styling this one dates to about the 1950s or early 1960s and is in wonderful condition. My wrist measures 6.25 inches around and there is room on this to expand or contract. The bracelet is 5 around with a gap of 3/4 inch.
