Gorgeous Vintage Navajo Turquoise Sterling Silver Bracelet Fred Harvey Era

  
This is a gorgeous indian sterling silver bracelet with a chunk of bright turquoise in the center flanked by Art Deco designs and some stamping along the edges. The stamp/signature inside is from Maisels trading post which was one of the main trading posts along route 66 in the American Southwest. I polished off most of the patina on the surface for wear but left it on the inside to show the natural age and time passage of the silver. I think silver should always be shiny so this is my compromise to people who like a little patina on their vintage items. This is a wonderfully delicate piece, it fits my 6.25 inch wrist but is better suited to s 6 inch wrist or a little smaller.

Looks great alone or can be worn stacked as shown in the pictures! It is a cuff bracelet with stamps along the sides typical of 1940s Navajo artisan work as commissioned by companies operating trading posts in the south west.

Fred Harvey era jewelry from that time was commissioned by the Fred Harvey company originally and then others like bell trading post to cater to the taste of tourists traveling across America by train or by Highway. Sometimes this was called railroad jewelry for that reason.

Fred Harvey pieces typically have a lighter profile than other Native American jewelry because it was designed to cater to the tastes of people who were tourists in the region at the time. So you will see a lot of art deco designs and tourist friendly craftsmanship. This one definitely nods to the Art Deco styles of the 1940s. This one has a very nice centerpiece with nice silversmithing shaping the cuffs with different levels and details right to the edges with stamps and details along the side.
